Maryam Judar - Civics Education

Dr. Maryam Judar, a participant on the Illinois Civics Education Task Force from 2013-2014, discusses her role in helping establish a civics requirement for Illinois students. She also explains the roll of the Illinois Civic Mission Coalition and its efforts to promote civics awareness by emphasizing media literacy, civil discourse, citizenship, the role of municipal governments, and the importance of voting.
