Marty Hickman - IHSA

Dr. Marty Hickman discusses his 25 year involvement with the Illinois High School Association, beginning with his experiences as a student athlete at New Berlin High School, and culminating with his years as an assistant, associate, and finally the Executive Director of the Illinois High School Association from 2002 to 2016. Hickman discusses many of the major issues that the IHSA faced during his tenure, including expanded class championships, dealing with football conferences, adding the non-boundary multiplier and the Success factor, increasing new sports and activities, and improving sports safety.
