Julie Yurko - Tumultuous 2020

Julie Yurko has served as the President and CEO of Northern Illinois Food Bank since 2014. She details how the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the food bank and the thirteen counties they serve. Food insecurity became incredibly prevalent with the start of the pandemic and Yurko describes the different ways they worked to meet the needs of their constituents. Since March of 2020 to the time of the interview in February of 2022, the food bank had distributed 180 million meals through their many programs.
