Barry Witten - Civics Education

Dr. Barry Witten discusses how Western Illinois University prepares future social studies teachers through methods classes, course requirements, field and clinical experiences, and student teaching. He also discusses his involvement with training current high school civics teachers through McCormick Foundation workshops as well as the role of the Rural Institute Scholarship Grant to help deal with teacher shortages in rural areas.
