Dick Simpson - Civics Education

Professor Dick Simpson discusses his involvement with Illinois and Chicago politics as a Chicago Alderman, campaign manager and author of many books, films, documentaries, and articles on Illinois politics. He has taught political science at the University of Illinois-Chicago since 1967. Prof. Simpson discussed his work on teaching Civic Engagement and supporting the effort to bring civics education into Illinois High Schools. He also talked about his co-authored books "Corrupt Illinois: Patronage, Cronyism and Criminality" and "Rogues, Rebels and Rubber Stamps: The Politics of the Chicago City Council from 1863 to the Present."
