Richard Irvin - Tumultuous 2020

Robert Irvin served as mayor of Aurora, Illinois, the state's second largest city, beginning in 2017. His time as mayor included the years of the COVID-19 pandemic, and he discusses the pandemic's impact on his city in detail. This includes a review of the pandemic's impact on essential services, the damage the pandemic caused to the local economy, and the city's relationship with local hospitals, health services, and the state and federal government. Mayor Irvin also discusses his personal experiences with the pandemic, including his own bout with the disease, and a successful run for reelection in the spring of 2021.
