Bob Podlasek earned a degree in mechanical engineering and economics in 1966 from the University of Illinois, and went on to earn a Ph.D. in 1972, years in which higher education in America was experiencing profound changes. Beginning in 1982 he began teaching engineering courses at Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, while also taking on the role of assistant dean for the Engineering College. Professor Podlasek discusses the scholarly and cultural changes that have occurred on college campuses during his sixty year involvement with higher education.
