Katie Norregaard - Tumultuous 2020

Katie Norregaard, musician and owner of Miss Katie Sings, LLC, details her experience with the COVID-19 pandemic. Norregaard was working as a pre-school music teacher at the Old Town School of Folk Music in the beginning of 2020. She had recently accepted a job with a design firm in pursuit of a nine to five style career. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, her work with the Old Town School of Folk Music was moved to a virtual format and her new job was postponed due to the shut down. She began posting her own children's music videos on YouTube and her first was met with immediate success. She began posting more frequently and soon the YouTube channel evolved into a business with live lessons and other offerings. Miss Katie Sings officially became an LLC in September of 2020. In her interview, Norregaard discusses the challenges of starting a business during a pandemic as well as the the unexpected ways the it benefited her business.
