Brian Liska - IHSA

Brian Liska discusses his career as the band director for East Aurora High School, and his involvement with the Illinois High School Association's (IHSA) music competitions. His students take part in the IHSA's solo and ensemble music competitions, and in organizational competitions. These contests lead to music sweepstakes winners in a variety of enrollment divisions. Liska discusses the role that IHSA music contests play in the overall high school band and choir programs. He talks about the types of groups which can compete, selecting music for the contests, and judging of student performances.
