Bruce Howard - IHSA

Bruce Howard, an executive with the National Federation of State High Schools Associations (NFHS), discusses its relationship with the Illinois High School Association as well as the other forty-nine state organizations plus the District in Columbia. The NFHS has a significant Illinois High School Association connection, as the organization was developed in the Midwest by states including Illinois. Among the topics Howard discusses include rule adoptions for many sports, professional training of coaches and officials, and the work done by the NFHS on safety/concussion issues. The NFHS also provides publications for use by sports officials and coaches.
