JungHwan Yang - Civics Education

Dr. JuanHwan Yang discussed the media literacy research he conducted between 2018-2020. He talked about his research regarding current journalism issues, including the use of straw man arguments, echo chambers, omission of stories, fact vs opinion, and the use of social media. Other topics discussed included his research on elections, the twitterverse and voter guides. He concluded the interview with a discussion on teaching at UIUC during the COVID-19 pandemic.
