Dr. Jason Stacy - Civics Education

Dr. Jason Stacy teaches history and social studies pedagogy at Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville, and discusses how SIU-E prepares social studies majors to teach civics courses, including how to deal with controversial topics, as well as engaging with their communities and using service learning projects. Dr. Stacey also discusses the impact of COVID-19, and the use of remote learning lesson plans, as well as the challenges of assessing students while doing virtual instruction.
