John Shaw - Civics Education

John Shaw, a longtime political reporter before becoming the director of the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute, discusses civic education in southern Illinois. From this perspective he examined issues such as news literacy, understanding what constitutes statesmanship, and the value of town halls. Shaw also examined the challenges of journalism and the impact of national politics on it over the past sixty years.
