Linda Greene - IHSA

Linda Greene discusses her involvement as the coach of the Rockford Auburn High School Scholastic Bowl team for twenty-four years, and her work with the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) during scholastic bowl competitions. She discusses the origins of state's scholastic bowl, its inclusion as an IHSA activity in 1986-87, scholastic bowl rules and SB practice/meet scheduling. Linda also discusses the scholastic bowl coaches association (IHSSBCA), the impact of technology and the Internet on the contest, and the format of matches and invitational meets at the regional, sectional, and final level. Auburn High School has earned two first place finishes, five second places, five third places, and four fourth places during her time as coach.
