Gus Gordon - Tumultuous 2020

Gus Gordon, executive director of the Hoogland Performing Arts Center, discusses his background and experiences that led him to becoming its executive director. His background in theater started in high school and has continued ever since. He also describes the importance of the arts and the active role the Hoogland plays for the variety of performing arts organizations in Springfield, Illinois. Finally, Gordon describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Hoogland Center, and the ways in which he and the staff pivoted to stay engaged with the Springfield community.
