Senator William 'Bill' Brady - Obama in Illinois

Bill Brady, a Republican from Bloomington, Illinois, served in the Illinois state Senate from May 2002 to his retirement at the end of 2020. Those years overlapped with then state Senator Barack Obama's time in the Illinois Senate from 1997 through 2004. Senator Brady reflects on his experiences with Senator Obama, and on Obama's years in the Illinois Senate, Obama's U.S. Senate campaign in 2004, and his dramatic rise to the presidency by January 2009.
