Lisa Badger - Tumultuous 2020

Lisa Badger, long time public servant and former nurse, was one of the first people in Sangamon County to be diagnosed with COVID-19. As one of the first cases, Badger dealt with negative attention from the media and individuals, as well as a bounty of uncertainty as her symptoms progressed. Badger outlines her experience from the start of her symptoms to the long lasting effects of the virus, including the emotional affect on her and her family. Badger concludes by describing her life since getting sick and her desire to have a positive impact on her home community of Springfield, Illinois.
