Ann Lousin - ERA Fight in Illinois

Ann Lousin, born in February 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, earned her law degree from the University of Chicago in 1968. She became a research assistant at the 1969 Illinois Constitutional Convention, a subject she has since extensively written about. Lousin served as a staff assistant and parliamentarian in the Illinois House of Representatives in the early 1970s, and in 1975, began her long career as a professor at John Marshall Law School. She was involved in Illinois' efforts to pass the Equal Rights Amendment, adhering to the state's constitutional requirements for amendments.
