Teresa Kruger - Civics Education

Teresa Kruger, E.D., discusses her experiences as a teacher of civics, a civics trainer for Boone-Winnebago Counties in Illinois, and an instructional mentor/coach for Belvidere North High School. She addressed the impact of Illinois’s new 2017 state social studies standards on civics instruction at Belvidere High School, and reviews the support her district receives from the local Regional Office of Education, as well as non-profit organizations such as the Mikva Challenge, Civic Mentors, the McCormick Foundation and Stony Brook University.
