Donald Taft - Rochester

Donald G. Taft is a descendant of the historic Taft family who were early Rochester, Illinois settlers. Don graduated from Bradley University in 1955 and due to his experiences in the University's ROTC program, earned a pilot's license. He remained passionate about flying thereafter, and owned several planes during his long career. Don has been as an entrepreneur in several venues, from the family farm to drive-through dairy stores to restaurants. He also owned and operated the Heritage House, a popular smörgåsbord restaurant on the south side of Springfield until 2004. He later opened Le Peep, a restaurant on the west side of Springfield.
