Museums for All is one component of the ALPLM’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all audiences and support those receiving food assistance.
(SNAP) benefits when visiting the ALPLM with a minimal admission fee of $3 per person, up to four people, when presenting a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and valid photo ID. Please visit Museums for All for more information.

Abe for All: World Hearing Day

Admission will be free starting at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, and sign language interpreters will be provided.
Lincoln's Birthday
Saturday & Monday, February 10 and 12, 2024
The ALPLM celebrates Mr. Lincoln's birthday all weekend on Saturday, February 10 and Monday, February 12, 2024 with free admission on both days. The museum will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We'll also celebrate Mr. Lincoln's love of reading with the "Lincoln's4Lincoln Read-a-Thon" from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10 in the plaza.
Juneteenth Celebration (Wednesday, June 19)
The Museum will be open to the public for free on Wednesday, June 19, to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday.
Gettysburg Address
Sunday, November 19, 2023
The Gettysburg Address will be in the Treasures Gallery from Friday, November 17 until Sunday, November 26. Admission to the museum will be free on the anniversary of the speech itself, November 19.
An ALPLM Historian will also discuss the speech at 12:15 PM on Monday, 11/20, Tuesday, 11/21, and Wednesday, 11/22.
Visitors who wish to see only the Gettysburg Address can do so for $5 by purchasing a gallery ticket instead of a general admission ticket.
Abe Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation Week Kick-Off
Saturday & Sunday, May 4 & May 5, 2024
To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, all teachers, teacher aids, and school administrators will receive free admission with the presentation of a school-issued ID card or letter signed by the administrator on school letterhead.
National Not-For-Profit Day

NFP groups can attend the museum free of charge with a pre-scheduled booking. Not-For-Profit groups should call our group sales office at (217) 558-8939 to reserve their tour time.
First Responders Day
Wednesday, September 11, 2024
First responders will receive free admission with presentation of employer ID at the ticket counter.
Veterans Day
Monday, November 11, 2024
Members of the U.S. Armed Forces, both Active duty and Veterans, receive free museum admission Saturday, November 11, 2023, with proof of military service. Reservations are not required in advance—present proof of military service at the Museum Ticket Counter to receive promotion.
All other guests wanting to view the Museum exhibits need to purchase regular Museum admission; they can do so at the ticket counter upon arrival or online in advance. Do not reserve a ticket online for Armed Forces members; their proof of service will be their ticket for the day.
