Museums for All
Museums for All is one component of the ALPLM’s broad commitment to seek, include, and welcome all audiences and support those receiving food assistance. (SNAP) benefits when visiting the ALPLM with a minimal admission fee of $3 per person, up to four people, when presenting a SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and valid photo ID. Abe for All: Sensory Friendly Evening
Thursday, April 2, 2026 (Free Museum Admission from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
The lighting and sound will be modified throughout the Museum for the evening. A quiet space will be available. Advance registration is not required. We have developed
a pre-visit preparation packet that ranks areas of the museum based on their potential to overstimulate.
Abe for All: International Day for the Deaf
Sunday, September 27, 2026 (Free Museum Admission from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM)
Admission will be free starting at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, and sign language interpreters will be provided.
Lincoln's Birthday
Saturday & Thursday, February 7 and 12, 2026
The ALPLM celebrates Mr. Lincoln's birthday all weekend on Saturday, February 7 and Thursday, February 12, 2026 with free admission on both days. The museum will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Juneteenth Celebration

The Museum will be open to the public for free on Friday, June 19, to celebrate the Juneteenth holiday.
250th Celebration
Saturday, July 4, 2026
The Museum will be open to the public for free on Saturday, July 4, to celebrate 250 years of American Independence.
Gettysburg Address
Thursday, November 19, 2026
Visitors who wish to see only the Gettysburg Address can do so for $5 by purchasing a gallery ticket instead of a general admission ticket. Admission to the museum will be free on the anniversary of the speech itself, November 19.
Abe Appreciation
Teacher Appreciation Week Kick-Off
Saturday & Sunday, May 2 & May 3, 2026
To kick off Teacher Appreciation Week, all teachers, teacher aids, and school administrators will receive free admission with the presentation of a school-issued ID card or letter signed by the administrator on school letterhead.
National Not-For-Profit Day

Not-For-Profit groups can attend the museum free of charge with a pre-scheduled booking. Not-For-Profit groups should call our group sales office at (217) 558-8939 to reserve their tour time.
First Responders Day
Friday, September 11, 2026
First responders will receive free admission with presentation of employer ID at the ticket counter.
Veterans Day
Wednesday, November 11, 2026
Members of the U.S. Armed Forces, both Active duty and Veterans, and their spouses attending with them receive free museum admission on Veterans Day, with proof of military service. Reservations are not required in advance—present proof of military service at the Museum Ticket Counter to receive promotion.
All other guests wanting to view the Museum exhibits need to purchase regular Museum admission; they can do so at the ticket counter upon arrival or online in advance. Do not reserve a ticket online for Armed Forces members; their proof of service will be their ticket for the day.
