Directions to the Museum and Library

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum are located next to each other in downtown Springfield, Illinois.  Many downtown streets use the one-way street system. Here are some specific directions to help you find us.

Parking

Welcome to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum! We pride ourselves on offering convenient and secure parking options for our valued guests. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our parking rates, payment options, and parking rules outlined below.

Street Parking: Limited street parking is available around the campus.

Parking Garage: The parking garage for the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is located on the corner of Sixth and Madison Streets, with entry on Sixth.

Parking Rates: Payments can be made at our exit lanes, pay on foot station, or online (monthly parking only).

• Garage:
  • 0-4 Hours: $5             
  • 4-12 Hours: $10
  • More than 12 Hours: $15 per day (or portion thereof)       

• Bus/RV lot:
  • Daily: $10
  • Note: Bus parking reserved and paid in advance through Visit Springfield will not be charged for parking at the lot.

Payment Options:

• We accept the following major credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, AMEX.
• Rental clients may discuss additional payment options with ALPLM Rental Coordinator.
• Cash is not accepted in the garage. Cash-only patrons may pay at the museum ticket desk between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Parking:

• Please park only in the designated parking spaces. Unauthorized parking in reserved or accessible parking spaces may result in towing at the owner’s expense.
• Parking is at your own risk. The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is not responsible for any damage, theft, or accidents that occur in the parking lot.
• Smoking, drinking alcoholic beverages, illicit drug use, violence, and excessive noise are strictly prohibited within the parking facility.
• Failure to follow rules may result in consequences that vary depending on severity, such as revocation of parking permit, towing your vehicle, contacting law enforcement, etc.
• You are responsible for keeping your entry ticket. Full daily rate will be charged for lost tickets.
• Please do not leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles.

Monthly Parking:

• Purchase monthly parking permits at https://alplm-parking.t2hosted.com/Account/Portal.
• Monthly parking may be purchased in 1-month or 3-month permits.
• Keep the QR code you get after purchase (on phone or printed) and scan it to enter/exit garage.
• There is not an auto-pay option, parking must be renewed and paid before the expiration.
• Cancellation – no refund for partial months; pre-paid future months will be refunded.
• ALPLM reserves the right to revoke parking permit without refund for failure to follow the rules.
