Robert Goes to College

The Lincolns’ oldest son Robert spent most of the Civil War as a Harvard student. Like his brothers in Washington, Robert made new friends but also kept in touch with old ones back home. Here, he writes to Alice Huntington (daughter of Springfield Mayor George Lathrop Huntington) and sends photos of himself as a Harvard man.
