The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is collaborating once again with the Springfield Area Arts Council (SAAC), and Downtown Springfield Inc., for Artist in the Park and Food Truck Friday. This free, weekly summer event series celebrating the arts and food will be held in Union Square Park, located at 500 E. Madison Street in downtown Springfield.
Every Friday through July 31, Union Square Park will come alive from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with live music, dance, poetry, and more.
Food trucks will be on-site from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, offering a wide variety of lunch options curated by Downtown Springfield Inc. Whether you come for the music, the food, or both, it’s the perfect way to spend your Friday lunch hour in the heart of downtown Springfield.
The event is free, family-friendly, accessible, and sensory-friendly. Outdoor seating is available throughout the park. For the convenience of our patrons, public restrooms will be accessible within Union Station, and in the event of inclement weather, performances will be held indoors with seating provided.
Our final week of the series features hip hop from Nicholas R.! Nicholas R.’s sound is rooted in storytelling. His music explores chasing dreams, love, and fatherhood, all delivered with intention and heart.
And enjoy taste tempting food from the Potbelly food truck!
