History Happy Hour - Top Hits of the Civil War: Part 2

August 30th - 30th

Stop by Anvil & Forge Brewing and Distilling after work on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 5:30pm to grab a drink and hear an engaging story during "History Happy Hour."

Music was central to how soldiers and civilians experienced the Civil War. Different songs became enormously popular and shaped how people viewed the conflict as it was being fought and long after. Join ALPLM Lincoln Historian Christian McWhirter for a discussion of more of the Civil War’s most popular songs and how performances from popular 20th and 21st-century artists show how they’ve been used and interpreted over time.

This is a free program, but you must be 21 years or older to attend.

History Happy Hour is a partnership program between the Illinois State Museum and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.
