Women Leading a Dialogue

November 9th

The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Jewish Federation of Springfield, and the Islamic Society of Greater Springfield are pleased to collaborate on a special program to lead a dialogue of understanding, finding mutual ground, and strengthening the bond between Arab and Jewish women in Western Galilee and beyond.

Join us in the museum's Union Theater on Wednesday, November 9 as we welcome four Jewish women and four Muslim women visiting Springfield from Israel, as part of their mission, “Women Leading a Dialogue.”

You’ll hear this group of women discussing culture, community and life in Western Galilee and their efforts to break down barriers and stereotypes, empower women, introduce a variety of cultures, develop leadership skills, and, most importantly, create connections and form close ties between diverse groups.

Admission is free, but advance registration is required. Museum doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Program begins at 7:00 p.m. Guests arriving early will have the opportunity to visit “Stories of Survival: Object. Image. Memory.” This is a traveling exhibit from the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center that showcases more than 60 personal items brought to America by Survivors of the Holocaust and genocide.
