History Day Theme Kickoff

October 17th - 17th

Seeking to cultivate the growth and development of young historians, while also inspiring a love of history, Illinois History Day encourages students in 6th-12th grade to choose a topic, conduct research, and present their findings in one of five categories: Research Paper, Exhibit, Documentary, Performance, or Website. Whether you’re a seasoned Illinois History Day veteran or a new teacher looking for fun ways to engage your students in historical thinking, this event is for you!

Come learn about this years’ theme, the updated rule book, and how we’ll be implementing the virtual 2020-2021 regional and state competitions. Teachers who participate and complete a survey will also earn 2.0 CPDU credits.

Illinois History Day is an affiliate of the National History Day contest.
