Home Case 2

A Piece of Lincoln’s home

The Lincolns moved into their Springfield home in 1844. Only two years later, they began renovating the place—a sign of Abraham’s professional success. This doorknob was used in the house during that period. Their neighbor John E. Roll removed and kept it when he worked on the family’s second renovation from 1849-1850.
