More than two dozen employers will gather at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum on Friday to meet people in search of jobs and new career opportunities.

The free job fair also offers career-development resources such as tips on writing a resume, job-readiness coaching and workshops on how to apply for Illinois state jobs.

The event runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ALPLM’s library building (112 N. Sixth Street, Springfield, Ill.). Job-seekers are encouraged to register in advance by clicking here.

This job fair is a joint initiative of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, the Central Illinois Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Illinois Department of Central Management Services and the University of Illinois Springfield Career Development Center.

“The ALPLM is committed to fostering civic engagement and serving the community. We are proud to do that by joining forces with these great organizations to help the people of central Illinois find jobs or pursue their dream careers,” said Christina Shutt, executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. “It’s the first event of its kind that we have hosted and sponsored, highlighting our commitment to the Springfield community.”

Employers who plan to attend include:

  • Bank of Springfield
  • Express Employment Professionals
  • Horace Mann Insurance
  • Lutheran Child and Family Services
  • Office of Statewide Pretrial Services
