Book Club for Educators: 38 Nooses: Lincoln, Little Crow, and the Beginning of the Frontier’s End

July 11th, 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Join the ALPLM’s Education and Research departments as we read and discuss Scott W. Berg’s book, 38 Nooses: Lincoln, Little Crow, and the Beginning of the Frontier’s End. In this work, Berg delves into Little Crow’s decision to lead the Dakota to war against the United States, the Army‘s response, and the resulting decision to hang 38 Dakota men within the larger context of the Civil War, the history of the Dakota people and the subsequent United States–Indian wars, bringing to life this overlooked but seminal moment in American history.

This virtual Book Club for Educators invites you to come as you are, drink what you want, and chat about great books with your peers. This virtual event is free, but registration is required. All participants who read 38 Nooses and attend the discussion will receive 6.5 CPDUs.
