PD in Your PJs: What is Truth?

October 24th - 24th

For the PD in Your PJs series, we invite you to come as you are, drink what you want, engage with the experts, and leave with 1.0 CPDU credit.

It’s hard to turn on the news without being confronted by terms like “lies,” “media-manipulation,” “fact-checking,” “multiple truths,” and “fake news.” As classroom teachers, how do we help our students approach what they hear critically, mindful of disciplinary practice? In this roundtable session, join Lincoln Historian Dr. Christian McWhirter, Reference Librarian Meghan Harmon, and Director of Education Heather Nice, as we discuss the methods used in our fields to ascertain reliability, authenticity, credibility, trustworthiness, and accuracy and the challenges associated with finding the "truth."

This session is specifically for educators, so we encourage you to come with questions for classroom application and practice.
