Mindfulness for Stress Management and Healing

May 20th, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm

With growing research backing the beneficial effects of mindfulness meditation (including improved attention and focus, stress reduction, self-regulation, relaxation, various improvements to the quality of life, etc.), many people are exploring the practice. Learn the basics of mindfulness meditation, some easy exercises to help relieve stress, and experience some of the effects for yourself! Mindfulness meditation is a mental training practice that teaches you to slow down racing thoughts, let go of negativity, and calm your mind and body. This event will end with a blissful, trauma-sensitive guided relaxation, emphasizing gentleness and recuperation.

Join us amid the beauty, history, and serenity of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum. Take some precious time to drop into your body and experience how mindfulness can help you push the reset button!

This event will be led by Ashley Krstulovich, a 200-hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT), yoga therapist, certified mindfulness instructor, and Continuing Education Provider (YACEP) with Yoga Alliance who founded and heads WholeSelf Healing Yoga & Meditation. She is certified in trauma-informed yoga, prenatal yoga, kids & family yoga, and is currently working on her 300-hour certification to train future yoga teachers. She also brings her yoga & mindfulness programming into local schools, recovery centers, prisons, and businesses.

Her work has been featured by Yoga Journal, Chicago Tribune, NPR, Washington Post, and a variety of local news sources, such as Illinois Times, State Journal Register, and Springfield Business Journal. Her passion remains the same after all these years: "I aim to bring the benefits of yoga beyond the gyms and yoga studio walls and into the community, making it more accessible for all."
