Facebook LIVE! - Lincoln and the Music of his Time

Our new exhibit, State of Sound: A World of Music from Illinois, celebrates the wide variety of music and artists from Illinois who have made an impact on modern music the past 75 or so years. But it’s worth noting our museum’s namesake was a music lover himself!

Join ALPLM Lincoln Historian Christian McWhirter on our Facebook page, Thursday, June 10 at 7pm Central time for an exploration of Lincoln’s taste in music and what it tells us about America’s 16th president. We’ll also look at how Lincoln shaped the music of his time, with numerous songs (both positive and negative) appearing about him during the Civil War.
