January 25th - 25th

For the PD in Your PJs series, we invite you to come as you are, drink what you want, engage with the experts, and leave with 1.0 CPDU credits.

About our latest program: During the 1800s Chicago experienced a meteoric rise. Early in the century it was little more than a vulnerable fort. By the 1890s the metropolis boasted over one million inhabitants and formed the center of the continent’s beef, pork, grain, and lumber trade. Join ALPLM Illinois and Midwest Studies Historian, Jacob Friefeld for a brief talk about nineteenth-century Chicago followed by a discussion on strategies and resources for teaching about the city and inserting it within the broader history curriculum.
