Carissa Bouse - Tumultuous 2020

Carissa Bouse, who worked as a social worker during a portion of the COVID-19 pandemic, describes how the pandemic effected her on a personal and professional level. She was laid off in the beginning of the pandemic while living in Arkansas with her husband. They were planning to move back to Illinois and the COVID-19 unemployment supplement allowed Bouse to focus solely on the move as well as saying goodbye to friends. Once back in Illinois, Bouse found work as a social worker where she experienced the job in a primarily virtual capacity. The work-life balance became tenuous, so she was able to transfer within FamilyCore to her current role as family development specialist.
